Preventive Skin Care

Routine skin care and regular skin examinations are important for maintaining healthy skin and identifying potential concerns as early as possible. We provide comprehensive skin checks, evaluation of new or changing moles and growths, and screening for skin cancer. Visits may also include personalized guidance on sun protection, skin cancer prevention, and how to monitor your skin for changes between appointments.

Dermoscopy is an important part of our approach to skin cancer screening. A dermatoscope is a specialized magnifying device that allows the physician to examine structures and patterns within the skin that are not easily visible to the naked eye. When used as part of a comprehensive skin examination, dermoscopy can improve the evaluation of moles and other skin lesions and help identify concerning changes that may warrant closer monitoring or biopsy.

Dr. Mahdieh Jedlowski and Dr. Mohammad Fazel both trained in Arizona and have extensive training and experience in dermoscopy. Their familiarity with the significant burden of sun-related skin disease seen in Arizona, combined with advanced dermoscopic examination skills, equips them to carefully evaluate subtle or early changes that may represent skin cancer. This detailed approach is designed to help identify concerning lesions at an earlier stage, when treatment is often simpler and more effective.

Our goal is not only to detect skin cancer, but also to help patients understand their individual risk, recognize important changes in their own skin, and develop practical habits that support lifelong skin health.
